Repainted Black Bench

This coffee table sized bench has a picture frame molded top, beautifully proportioned waist, and a carved apron below the waist.  The legs are cuffed and connected by a simple humpbacked stretcher just below the apron.  This bench was made from elm and cypress in the last few years of the 19th century in Hebei Province, and has been repainted.
