Second Pair of Elm "Lamp Hanger" Chairs

This pair of lamp hanger chairs has a "stubbier" look than the first pair of lamp hanger chairs.  The reason that they have a squarer look is that the back splat is considerably shorter.  Otherwise, they are certainly of the same approximate age, and originated in the same provinces as the first pair.  This pair of chairs also has age related repairs.  These are good chairs even if they don't possess the sinewy grace of the first pair. This pair of chairs originated in either Hebei or Shanxi province and date from the first few years of the 20th century. The title "lamp hanger" derives from the protruding horizontal top of the chair. The seat is 19" high.
