The variety of types of Chinese stools never ceases to amaze me. This is a quintessential country stool. Very well made, the stool has the simplest and most basic design, and would fit in with any "country" decor. Some use stools such as this one as end tables beside a chair or sofa, and they do well holding a drink or a magazine. This stool is made of elm, originated in Shandong Province in the middle of the 20th century. It has honest age related repairs. There is no doubt that this stool was well used.
