Benches

Benches are used all over China in a great variety of ways.  They come in all sorts of sizes, many are highly decorated, some have bamboo tops.  Benches are often used in restaurants and in homes around a dining table.  Utilitarian in nature, smaller sized benches make great end tables in non Chinese houses.   Longer ones are often used as coffee tables.  Some put a bench at the foot of a bed to hold bedding, or as a good place to sit while putting on shoes.  Variety in woods, lengths and decoration make these highly useful and attractive.
