Hallway Chest

This chest which I call a "Hallway Chest" is made of elm and cypress and is about 50-60 years old.  The drawer interiors have been replaced as has the hardware with the exception of the hinges which are original.  The form of this chest is what makes it so appealing.  Probably we should not call it a "Hallway Chest" as it will fit in perfectly well in any room of a house or office.  Due to the length of the legs, there is a lightness to the appearance of this chest that delights the eye.  It most probably came from Shandong province.  Be sure to note the cuffed feet, which give an air of sophistication to this country chest.
