A clothes rack in place of a closet? It actually works quite well. The person takes off their clothes and puts them on the rack's cross bars. They air well, and the bottom part holds shoes. Today people use these racks to display quilts, suggest room divisions, or just as a place for extra bedding or towels. This rack has part of its original paint, the remainer repainted, and is made of elm around the turn of the 19th into the 20th century. Its original place of origin is unknown.
