He He are celestial twins representing marital fertility. This ceiling fragment represents one of the celestial twins. This twin is carrying a lotus, partially open, to reveal a seed and leaf. The leaf has been shortened. This fragment, probably made of cypress, is well over 100 years old and has been mounted on a new base. It originated in Fujian province
