Southern Cypress Table

This Southern China table was made early in the 18th century. Just look at the proportions. The table is constructed with "giant's arm braces" underneath a high waist, which, in turn, supports a picture frame molded top. The feet are cuffed with beading running the full length of the legs and the apron. The patina on this table is simply superb. The finish has been restored, but not over cleaned, leaving the marks of long use on its top. Of its kind, the finest table I have ever had the privilege of owning.
