This cabinet is a delightfully small size. The taper both on the front and sides of the cabinet give it a lightness and grace. The hardware and interior shelves have been replaced, and as in almost all of the old country furniture, the feet have had repair. As regular readers on this site know, there were no hardwood floors in China, and dampness seeping up into furniture legs was virtually universal. Again, great furniture - like great architecture and art - depend so much on a sense of proportion. This cabinet is a superb example of the early Ming style. Early 18th century.
