Leather Canteen

This canteen looks archaic. The handles were for rope or other fabric that could be used for carrying the canteen on one' shoulder or to put on the saddle of a farm animal. It would have had a stopper , of course, but the stopper is long lost to history. If you go to China, you could look for it in Inner Mongolia, but I would think you might have better uses for your time. This is a piece of sculpture. It just looks wonderful on a table or buffet. So much wear, bumps and dents on the canteen you can tell it was very well used. Mid 20th century.
