Chinese Money Box
The box is designed for two purposes. The stand would hold a ledger book, and the drawer would contain the money. This box has a crane carved into the stand. The crane is a symbol of longevity. The box itself is made of elm wood, and has its original paint with clearcoat, has replaced hardware and was made right around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in Shanxi Province.
