Cypress Table
This table was made most probably in the last quarter of the 19th century. It's legs absorbed a lot of damage from standing on either cement or earth floors, and there has been much restoration of the legs as a result. As is so frequently the case, the original panels were used as the drawer fronts. This type of modification conforms with the desire of many to increase the utility of a piece of furniture wherever possible. As a result, the table looks essentially the same as when it was built, with the exception of the drawer handles, but the addition of drawer space makes it more usable.
