Kang Table With Drawer

This Kang table was made of elm in the middle of the 20th century.  The kang was a raised heated platform inside a house, and because it was heated, became the center of family eating and sleeping.  This table shows the desire to be practical in that it was built with a drawer for storage.  Thus both the top and the drawer of the table were used.  I particularly like the scalloped front of the table.
